Connecticut Spring & Stamping Receives ISO 13485 Medical Certification for Quality Management

Demonstrates commitment to design and manufacturing of medical device components

Farmington, CT - Connecticut Spring & Stamping (CSS), a manufacturer of precision parts for the medical, aerospace, firearms and defense industries worldwide, announces that it is has been certified to the ISO 13485 standard for quality management for design and manufacturing of medical devices. After a rigorous 10-ten day on-site audit, accredited registrar American Systems Registrar, LLC certified the company for the manufacture of spring, wire forms, stampings and tooling, provision for the contracted design and commissioning of production tooling, assembly of springs, stampings and purchased components for the medical device industry.

ASR stated that CSS has established a quality management system that is in conformance with the International Quality System Standard and commented that the company's quality management processes are mature and well.conceived. CSS received the three-year ISO 13485 certification on December 16, 2013. CSS has significantly expanded its medical customer base and will use the certification to further enhance its capabilities with Tier 1 suppliers.

The rigorous ten-day audit process reviewed and assessed CSS's day-to-day operations, covering every department and every operation within the facility. In addition to twelve production-related departments, the audit also covered all administrative services ensuring that every employee participates in the focus on quality management.

"The ASR team was helpful and knowledgeable and was impressed with our employees. extremely high level of interest and our thorough and easy to access process documentation. Once CSS addressed the three minor findings ASR filed a completely clean report within three weeks and we received our certification very quickly."
