Progressive tooling is the heart of the metal stamping division at CSS. We excel in not only the manufacture of tight tolerance, difficult-to-make stampings, but also the tooling that those parts require. Our state-of-the-art facilities feature Minster and Bruderer presses for high-speed progressive die stamping, with capacity ranging from 30 to 300 tons, in-die tapping, modular die options, short run stamping and fine blank stamping.
We produce stampings from a wide range of raw materials according to precise customer specifications. Our metal stamping expertise is highlighted well with the medical industry -- drive channels, jaws, articulation components, grasper arms, and titanium clips are just a few of the components that we have produced for assemblies used in handheld medical devices. The material thickness of each stamping that we make ranges from .004” to .250”, with stock width up to 24”.
Many stampings for our clients require secondary operations, including machining, welding, heat treating, finishing treatments, additional stamping/forming, and assembly. Our extensive secondary department is dedicated to the processing of those additional operations, offering secondary presses with capacity ranges from 2 to 75 tons. This allows us to complete unique part features that could not be incorporated into the primary progressive tooling.
