CSS has a large and expanding business supplying medical device OEMs with tight tolerance springs and metal stampings used in minimally invasive handheld surgical devices, as well as endoscopic clip appliers, suturing devices, and staple removers. CSS offers prototyping and new product development services, collaborating with customers to optimize their design objectives. The company offers low volume, short-run spring manufacturing, as well as higher volume production and warehousing. Springs are produced according to customer specifications, and are manufactured from a wide range of flat stock and round wires. With expertise in part and tooling design, CSS develops sophisticated tooling to produce extremely tight stack tolerances.

CSS also offers expert machining services, including Swiss machining from bar stock and the ability to add critical machined features to complicated stampings. Value-added assembly services include both fully and semi-automatic processes, sub-assembly capabilities, and the ability to use manufactured, purchased components or customer-supplied materials.

Drive channels, jaws, surgical staples, and titanium clips are just a few of the components CSS has produced for assemblies used in handheld devices. CSS capabilities include prototyping and high speed progressive die stamping from 30-300 tons, in-die tapping, modular die options, short run stamping and fine blank stamping.
